Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is similar to the concept of ‘Global Village’: "

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a Sanskrit idiom which means that the complete world is one single family. The phrase comes from the Hitopadesha, a collection of Sanskrit fables in prose and verse that were written in the 12th century.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam can also be related to the concept of the global village and is similar to that of the African concept of Ubuntu.

The organizations that are based on Hindutva like Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believe in the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

The literature of BJP states, “This gigantic idea (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) is an exclusively Indian contribution to world peace. This ancient nation evolved a world-view based on the motto ‘Loka samasta sukhina bhavantu’ (Let the entire world be happy) thousands of years before any League of Nations or United Nations was thought of to avoid global strife. The Indian nation evolved this grand vision not by marching its armies and conquering the rest and offering peace; but by the inner-directed pursuit of universal values by the Rishis living in the forests and mountains of India.”

Thus, the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is considered as the integral part of the Hindu philosophy.
