The Indian cricket board has terminated the contracts of two IPL franchises, the Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals from the next edition of the Indian Premier League. The BCCI made this decision in a meeting in Mumbai on Sunday.
Preity Zinta is one of the co-owners of the Kings XI Punjab while Shilpa Shetty owns a part of the Rajasthan Royals.
The IPL also issued a showcause notice to Kochi which warned them to get the things back into place or face expulsion.
According to the buzz, the issue surrounding the expulsion is the financial irregularities found in the two team’s stakes. The two sides also have stakes from relatives of Lalit Modi.
